OUR HISTORY: Berry Hill is the smallest in both size and population of Metro Nashville's six satellite cities (separately incorporated cities located wholly or partially inside Metro Nashville/Davidson County). Berry Hill is less than one square mile in area, has a population of approximately 700 residents and is home to more than 400 businesses, including almost 40 recording studios and music publishers.
While the Melrose area of the city, along Franklin Pike, was developed in the early 1900's most of what we now know as Berry Hill was developed during and after World War II on the site of Elmwood, the family farm of the W. W. Berry family, for which the City is named.
DIRECTIONS: Berry Hill is easy to find and conveniently located just south of downtown Nashville.
From Interstate I-40 / I-440:
Take I-65 South to the Armory Drive exit and exit onto Powell Avenue. Go north on Powell Ave past 100 Oaks Mall, Home Depot and CarMax. When you cross Thompson Lane, Powell becomes Bransford Avenue and you are in Berry Hill.
From Green Hills:
Take Woodmont Avenue east. Once you pass over Franklin Pike, Woodmont becomes Thompson Lane and Berry Hill lies to your left on the north side of Thompson Lane, directly across from 100 Oaks.
Take 8th Ave south, which becomes Franklin Pike. Once you cross Bradford Avenue you have entered the Melrose area of Berry Hill. Turn left on Berry Road and right on Bransford Avenue to reach the Bransford shopping area.
